Salvation
The Lord is so good because of His mercy and grace that He shows towards us. We are thankful that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for all of our sins. We believe that God raised Jesus from the dead on the 3rd day. We believe in the work of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. By the grace of God through faith, we are born again and will have eternal life in Heaven.
*This is what is needed for salvation and eternal life. FAITH & LOVE (obedience).
• A person must repent for their sins. (Matthew 4:17, Luke 5:32, Luke 13:1-5, Acts 2:38, Acts 26:20)
•A person must believe, confess Jesus, the Son of God, as their Lord and Savior and be baptized. They must believe in the work on the cross, His death, burial, and resurrection before water baptism. (John 8:24 / Romans 10:9-19 / 1 Corinthians 15/ Matthew 10:32-33/1 Peter 3:21/ Mark 16:16)
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 1 John 4:15 KJV
3 Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:3-4
•A person must LOVE the Lord God with all of their heart, soul, & mind. (Matthew 22:36-37) God wants our hearts pure before Him. It’s about the heart, (motives, intentions) which is why we do works. Paul says that LOVE is GREATER than FAITH in 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Paul writes this in 1 Corinthians 16:22,
22 If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let that person be cursed! Come, Lord.
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that counts is faith working through love.
Galatians 5:6 NRSV
Jesus says this in John 14:23-24
23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
•A person must be led by the Holy Spirit in obeying the commands of Jesus. (Romans 8:14 / John 14:15-24)
•A person must be faithful until death. (Matthew 24:13 /Revelation 2:10)
